About ConcordiaSpring

A small school for yoga and somatic practice in Asheville — where the pace is human, the room is quiet enough to hear yourself, and showing up counts more than performing well.

The School

ConcordiaSpring grew from a simple conviction: the body already knows how to heal, settle, and find its way home. Our work is not to fix you or push you toward someone else's idea of wellness. It is to create conditions where you can feel what is actually here — breath, weight, sensation, presence — and practice from that honesty.

Classes are small on purpose. Workshops go deeper into somatic inquiry. Nothing is built for spectacle or scale. We are not trying to be the biggest studio in town. We are trying to be a place where you are recognized when you walk in the door.

The name points toward concord — agreement, harmony — and spring as both season and source. Practice here is relational: with yourself, with the room, with what moves through the body when it is given time.

The Teacher

Christopher teaches yoga and somatic practice in Asheville. He is a somatic coach, a writer, and a former freediving instructor — work that taught him how much intelligence lives below the level of words.

He holds a degree in computer science from Berea College. That path may seem unrelated, but it sharpened his attention to systems: how parts relate, where friction lives, and what happens when you slow down enough to notice the whole.

In class, he favors clarity over charisma. You will find precise guidance, room for your own experience, and an atmosphere that takes your inner life seriously without making it precious.

The Space

Classes are held in Asheville, NC. Exact location and directions are shared when you book — we keep the address private until registration so the space stays calm and unhurried for those who are already on their way.

Bring a mat if you have one. The room is kept simple: enough light, enough quiet, nothing that competes with the practice.
